Thailand Collection

My collection of antique jewellery from Thailand is finally up in the shop. In Asia, gold jewellery is traditionally used in marriage ceremonies or for temple use. Turquoise stones are also very popular in Asia, the beautiful bright stones are also very beneficial in dispelling negative energy. This collection also includes some beautiful silver pieces and other materials commonly used in Asia including bone, and healing stones of rose quartz and amethyst. Here are some of the pieces, and check out the rest here: www.etsy.com/shop/piratebootytreasure

New Treasures

I have some new treasures up in the shop:

Throughout history, the triangle has taken on multiple symbols, but usually it a sign of unity and direction.

The triad symbolizes the male, the female and together their creative power.
The triad symbolizes the sky, the earth and all iving beings.
The triad symbolizes the perfect union when two become one.
The triad symbolizes the power of One to become All.

Let this beautiful and rustic brass pendant and chain work its magic, and choose your symbol!

Finally a treasure crafted from my favourite protection stones -Tiger Eye! Tiger eye is not just a good luck charm, it instills the wearer with willpower, purpose, courage, self-confidence and practicality. This is the best friend we need to assist us with self-empowerment.

This tiger is not just courageous, but incredibly beautiful. The way the light hits the stone, exposing multiple layers, will catch the eye of many. This necklace is strung with five of these magnificent stones, each unique in appearance.

This is definitely a statement piece, but take a chance and reclaim your power!

The first headpiece in the Pirate Booty collection is simple and elegant and is guaranteed to make you feel like a princess!

Sterling silver decorated with tiny rose quartz crystals, this crown will add an element of fantasy to any outfit. I was particularly inspired by Elfish fairy tales when creating this piece (I can't help but conjure up images of Rivendell waterfalls when wearing these crystal crowns:)

The style fits many sizes, and the weight of the thicker chain helps to keep in it place.

This gorgeous Moroccan piece was a real find! The mysterious red gemstone in the middle seems to carry with it centuries worth of stories. This is an antique piece that should be treasured for centuries to come!

This silver necklace is the perfect necklace to layer with others, but in all honesty, the piece speaks for itself. The beautiful and rustic silver pendant is embedded with two antique stones, a dark red and a small black stone which I believe to be Obsidian. Obsidian is volcanic glass, and it great for shielding against negativity.

I do recommend leaving this piece out in the sunshine to clear the stones from negative energy from its past, as this piece has age.

Celebrating Ostara -Spring Equinox

I am not letting this foot of snow on the ground in Montreal hinder my own celebration of the Spring Equinox because with the end of semester, a new job on the horizon and the signing of new lease, Spring changes have come naturally! Although I can't wait to feel the sun on my skin and watch as this grey city turns to green, I did wake up feeling a little lighter this morning and the snow still looks beautiful. Spring is a natural time for revival, and today marks a beautiful transition into this new energy. I will be celebrating Ostara in spirit with those who are able to celebrate through festival today.

"These festivals of spring equinox, summer solstice, autumn equinox and winter solstice, are immeasurably important in our human history, as the planetary movements revealed to humanity that the light, the sun, upon whose rays every single living thing depended was not only increasing, it would overpower the dark. Ancient people had no way of knowing that the stars would always be there, that the Sun was many millions of years old and would continue to exist for many more millions of years. Each winter meant the dread of eternal winter -indeed, how complacent should we be about the return of life each year? Can we be sure how long we as individuals have on this planet this lifetime? The spring equinox still signifies the coming of light, of warmth, of the return of life itself. The myths of Celts, Romans, Greeks, Norse and the Egyptians all recognize the spring equinox as the new beginning. " -Lucy Cavendish

What does spring mean to you? What needs reviving in your life? Hope? Health? Passion? This is a great time to literally start again. At the basis of spring is creative growth, energy. Your energy will naturally have been changing since the winter solstice-the sluggishness of winter becomes easier to shrug off once the darkest day is past. But now we are able to reactivate our core energy, and the sunshine can help with that! Go outside, play, laugh, live :)

To celebrate Ostara, here is a beautiful collection from photographer Kris Mort from Austria:

Nick Cave Sound Suits

I know Nick Cave for his musical talent, but I am blown away by his newest artistic endeavour...'Sound suits' are wearable art pieces informed by the likes of rocket missiles and tree roots in an effort to portray the spirit of human movement through colour, texture and sculpture. Check these out!

Wild West

I love cowboys...and cowgirls (definitely an alter-ego of mine inherited from my father)

Fellow felines...

So captivated by the work of fashion designer Mara Hoffman who encorporates magic, mythology, and mysticism in her beach wear designs. Inspired by indigenous folk traditions and astrology she is famous for her "sacred geometry" bikinis.

My favorite piece right now...

Another beautiful treasure all the way from the markets of Morocco. This piece is made up of beautiful stones embedded into a brass pendant, and has a really unique and elegant look to it.

This necklace conjures up my fairytale imagination of the royal queen in her magical kingdom in the clouds...who of course has a pet unicorn. This amazing piece has a very classic and simple appearance but up close the details are very distinctive making this a one-of-a-kind gem.

Become the queen of your own kingdom...what will you name your unicorn?

What is inspiring me these days: mystic communion, prints and patters, sacred warriors
